Direct Support Professionals integrate C-NTA’s Guiding Principles by providing professional, person-centered guidance and support to individuals who have intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, as well as possible medical care needs or physical disabilities. This position provides support and cares as needed, teaches appropriate behaviors and provides behavior management assistance.

Job Types:

Full-time, Part-time

Residential Program

Positions available in both Somerset and Johnstown. Full & part-time positions available for all shifts. Shifts include:

  • Second shift (2pm-10pm)
  • Overnight shift( 10pm-6am)
  • Weekend Block – full-time employment in just 3 workdays. You will work 6am-10pm Saturday and Sunday as well as pick up one shift throughout the week. In addition to your hourly rate of pay, anyone working the weekend block receives an additional $1/hour shift differential for hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.
  • 7 on / 7 off – Candidates must be able to work 80+ hours within a seven (7) day week by living at our residential homes during that week. These employees working a 7 on / 7 off schedule receive a higher wage, are full-time and receive the next week off.

Responsibilities of a Residential DSP include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting our individuals with personal care tasks (bathing, exercising, grooming, etc.) as well as everyday life functions (meal preparation, budgeting funds, grocery shopping, attending doctor appointments, medication management, house cleaning, etc.) and doing so within their home 24/7
  • Providing transportation to our individuals’ various appointments and activities
  • Assisting with coordination and execution of community outings and events for our clients
  • Utilizing the individual’s support plan to effectively manage the behaviors of the client
  • Ensuring the individual’s daily obligations are scheduled and executed

Croyle-Nielsen Therapeutic Associates, Inc. is searching for a self-motivated and positive team member to join our Residential Services department as a full-time House Manager for our Residential group homes. 

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A HOUSE MANAGER

Collectively, our primary goal is to help our individuals who have intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, as well as possible medical care needs or physical disabilities to live their best life. As a House Manager you must be committed to the happiness and well-being of the individuals we support while providing quality supervisory guidance to our staff.

As a House Manager you can expect to:

  • Fulfill all duties as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) which include assisting our individuals with personal care tasks (bathing, exercising, grooming, etc.) as well as everyday life functions (meal preparation, budgeting funds, grocery shopping, attending doctor appointments, medication management, house cleaning, etc.).
  • Providing transportation to our individuals’ various appointments and activities.
  • Serve as the positive and supportive link between the administrative offices and the residential staff while addressing frontline issues that may arise.
  • Ensure daily operations of the residential houses are being followed appropriately and the condition of all property is always in full repair.
  • Handle on-call duties swiftly and accurately.
  • Provide continued hands-on oversight of residential staff, ensuring their continued adherence to quality expectations, safety standards and job responsibilities.

 

At all times our residential team must ensure the health, safety and well-being of the individuals we serve. Ideal candidates are compassionate, patient, motivated, detail-oriented and can handle multiple priorities at once.  Applicants should have a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals and provide support in their everyday life while having a strong ability to focus on solutions. Requirements to be a House Manager include:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and successfully complete a driving history record check
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen and criminal background check
  • Previous experience as a DSP with a strong desire to lead. A minimum of three years’ experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities is strongly preferred.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Your primary goal is to assist our clients who have intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, as well as possible medical care needs or physical disabilities to live their best life. As a Program Specialist you must be committed to the happiness and well-being of the clients we support while providing supervisory guidance to our staff. As a Program Specialist you can expect to:

  • Assists in developing and teaching daily living skills and appropriate behaviors as written in the Individual Support Plan (ISP).
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with the clients’ support system.
  • Provide and supervise activities for the individuals in accordance with their specific ISP, including opportunities for community integration.
  • Accurately complete, maintain, and submit all documentation and written records as required by the state, federal laws, statutes, rules, regulations, and policies or procedures of the agency.
  • Participate in the ISP process, development, team reviews, and implementation in accordance with the 6400 regulations.
  • Look for ways to promote and improve the quality of C-NTA services and experiences while being a positive mentor and coach for residential team members to ensure their job success and retention.

Ideal candidates are compassionate, patient, motivated, detail-oriented, and can handle multiple priorities at once.  This is a very fast paced position that requires strong organizational skills and a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals and provide support in their everyday life while having a strong ability to focus on solutions. Requirements to be a Program Specialist include:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, successfully complete a driving history record check, and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen and criminal background check
  • Required Education & Work Experience:
    • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field of study or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university in a related field of study and 4 years work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and 2 years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability, or a master’s degree or higher in a related field of study from an accredited college or university and one 1 year work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Must have a strong knowledge of community resources for the IDD population.
  • Must demonstrate leadership, as well as possess compassion for and an understanding of the needs, struggles, and desires of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, individuals receiving services, families, other agencies, and the general public.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, handle on-call responsibilities and be available to troubleshoot during non-traditional times of day.
  • Must be solution focused, adaptable and innovative, being able to quickly adapt to changes and have a constant focus on improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and email applications.
  • Must be a team player who works exceedingly well with others.

Community Participation Program

Positions available in both Somerset and Cambria Counties. Part-time positions available with daytime hours typically. Weekend and evening hours occasionally. Responsibilities of a Community Participation DSP include, but are not limited to:

  • Helping the individual live a successful meaningful life through fulfilling and rewarding participation in community events.
  • Assisting the individual with socialization efforts while participating within the community.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A THERAPIST  

As a Therapist at C-NTA, we promise you will learn and be rewarded daily as you help to make a difference in someone’s life!  Your main goal will be to provide high quality, professional, competent, compassionate, and outcome-based behavioral and mental health therapy services. 

Therapists must provide the best quality care and possess the flexibility and commitment to meet the needs of our clients.  Based out of Johnstown, PA, we are eager to grow our telehealth team across the state!   

Candidates must have licensure as a LPC, LSW or LCSW or will be licensed within 3 months of the date of hire. All therapists must provide transcripts, PA Child Abuse clearances, and carry professional liability and cyber liability insurance. 

Responsibilities of a Therapist include, but are not limited to: 

  • Performs a variety of direct clinical duties in the outpatient setting as well as in various professional organizational on-site settings. These include, but are not limited to application of individual, couples, family, group, emergency triage, and organizational/corporate wellness treatment modalities.  
  • Performs thorough and accurate psychosocial evaluations, initial assessments, developing and implementing master treatment plans, providing timely documentation of treatment and providing high quality, professional, competent, compassionate, and outcome-based behavioral and mental health treatment, as well as for ensuring appropriate discharge planning/aftercare referrals and performing various types of community outreach.  
  • Facilitates wellness throughout the organization and assisting other departments and program areas as directed.  
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with both clients and staff. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage his/her time, prioritize the multiple demands of the position and is able to accurately follow instructions.

Requirements to be a Therapist: 

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling or equivalent from a nationally recognized accredited institution of higher learning. Copy of degree and transcripts of all academic degree completion must be provided.   
  • Must hold and provide proof of current and valid licensing in Pennsylvania as an LSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPC or NCC; the license must be listed as being in good standing with any and all applicable the regulatory and licensing bodies.  
  • Must hold and provide proof of current and valid malpractice insurance at all times. 
  • Must complete 30 hours of required training every two years which includes: 
  • Minimum of 3 hours must be in ethics. 
  • Minimum of 2 hours in approved child abuse recognition and reporting. 
  • Minimum of 1 hour in suicide prevention 
  • Remaining 25 hours in approved CEUs for LSW, LCSW or LPC in state of Pennsylvania. 
  • Must provide all applicable and required background checks and clearances.
  • Must not be listed on any state, Federal, or local service provider exclusion lists.
