Croyle-Nielsen Therapeutic Associates is growing, and we are always taking applications for our programs in the Johnstown and Somerset areas! In particular, we are looking for team members for our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities programs, which include Behavior Support, Residential Services, In-Home and Community services, and much more. We are also glad to hear from therapists (LPC, LSW, LCSW) and other psychiatric professionals who would like to be a part of the expanding Croyle-Nielsen team!

Open Positions:

Direct Support Professionals integrate C-NTA’s Guiding Principles by providing professional, person-centered guidance and support to individuals who have intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, as well as possible medical care needs or physical disabilities. This position provides support and cares as needed, teaches appropriate behaviors and provides behavior management assistance.

Job Types:

Full-time, Part-time

Residential Program

Positions available in both Somerset and Johnstown. Full & part-time positions available for all shifts. Shifts include:

  • Second shift (2pm-10pm)
  • Overnight shift( 10pm-6am)
  • Weekend Block – full-time employment in just 3 workdays. You will work 6am-10pm Saturday and Sunday as well as pick up one shift throughout the week. In addition to your hourly rate of pay, anyone working the weekend block receives an additional $1/hour shift differential for hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.
  • 7 on / 7 off – Candidates must be able to work 80+ hours within a seven (7) day week by living at our residential homes during that week. These employees working a 7 on / 7 off schedule receive a higher wage, are full-time and receive the next week off.

Responsibilities of a Residential DSP include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting our individuals with personal care tasks (bathing, exercising, grooming, etc.) as well as everyday life functions (meal preparation, budgeting funds, grocery shopping, attending doctor appointments, medication management, house cleaning, etc.) and doing so within their home 24/7
  • Providing transportation to our individuals’ various appointments and activities
  • Assisting with coordination and execution of community outings and events for our clients
  • Utilizing the individual’s support plan to effectively manage the behaviors of the client
  • Ensuring the individual’s daily obligations are scheduled and executed

In Home, Community & Companion Program

Positions available in Somerset County only. Part-time positions available Monday – Friday with daytime hours typically. Weekends and evenings are possible but rare. This position is perfect for someone who wants to work approximately 10-20 hours per week, especially for those seeking a retirement job or while kids are at school due to the flexibility! Responsibilities of an In Home & Community DSP include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting individuals with their activities of daily living within their home. Possible in home activities include teaching them how to cook and clean.
  • Assisting individuals with their daily obligations and desires such as attending appointments and shopping.
  • Ensuring the individual’s daily obligations are executed.

Community Participation Program

Positions available in both Somerset and Cambria Counties. Part-time positions available with daytime hours typically. Weekend and evening hours occasionally. Responsibilities of a Community Participation DSP include, but are not limited to:

  • Helping the individual live a successful meaningful life through fulfilling and rewarding participation in community events.
  • Assisting the individual with socialization efforts while participating within the community.

At all times our DSPs, ensure the health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times. DSPs are compassionate, patient and motivated. Applicants should have a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals and provide support in their everyday life. Experience is a plus, but not necessary. We offer paid training classes for new employees and ongoing training throughout employment. Requirements to be a DSP:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and successfully complete a driving history record check
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen and criminal background check

As a Supported Employment Specialist, we promise you will learn and be rewarded daily as you help to make a difference in someone’s life!  Your main goal will be to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build and foster friendships, create positive memories, and obtain gainful employment within the community. You will basically serve as the individual’s personal job coach, working in a variety of settings and helping the individual to develop new skills at their job and reach personal goals each and every day.

Part-time positions are available in both Somerset and Johnstown working within the individual’s place of employment regularly throughout the day.  The Supported Employment Specialist works primarily during the weekdays but must be flexible to work evenings or weekends to meet the needs of the individuals’ employment schedules. To be successful in this position, you must be compassionate, patient, motivated, and very flexible. Applicants should have a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals and provide support in their everyday life.  Experience is a plus, but not necessary. We offer paid training classes for new employees and ongoing training throughout employment.

Responsibilities of a Supported Employment Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting our individuals with securing employment within the community.
  • Providing transportation to our individuals’ work schedules
  • Participating in the individual’s work day providing coaching opportunities with total guidance on how to successfully contribute to their employer
  • Utilizing the individual’s support plan to effectively manage the behaviors of the client
  • Ensuring the individual’s daily work obligations are scheduled and executed successfully
  • Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times.

Requirements to be a Supported Employment Specialist:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Minimum of a high school diploma with four years of experience in a related-field.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and successfully complete a driving history record check
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen and criminal background check
  • Has access to a safe and reliable vehicle at all times of the day and night and is able to transport individuals in the Supported Employment Specialist’s personal vehicle.
